Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about working together, answered honestly.
Insurance & Payment
Do you take insurance?
Yes! I accept several major insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, and others. I use Headway to verify coverage and process insurance payments. See the full list of accepted plans on my Insurance & Fees page.
What if my insurance isn’t listed?
If your insurance isn’t in-network, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so check with your insurance about out-of-network benefits.
What are your self-pay rates?
Initial Evaluation: $250 | Follow-Up Appointments: $150 | ADHD Testing: $250
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes, HSA and FSA funds can typically be used for psychiatric services. Check with your plan administrator to confirm.
Do you offer payment plans?
Not at this time. Payment is due at the time of service.
Appointments & Process
How often will I need to come back?
It varies. When starting new medication or making changes, we might meet every 2-4 weeks. Once things are stable, appointments are typically every 1-3 months.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a cancellation fee.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Rarely. Availability varies, but same-day appointments are generally not available.
Medications
Do you prescribe Adderall/stimulants?
Yes, when clinically appropriate and after a thorough ADHD evaluation. I follow evidence-based protocols, which means I use structured assessments and require ongoing monitoring. This isn’t about making it harder—it’s about providing safe, ethical care with controlled substances.
About My Practice
What ages do you see?
I only see adults (18+). I don’t treat children or adolescents.
Do you accept new patients?
Yes, I’m currently accepting new patients.
What states are you licensed in?
I’m licensed in Texas only. All patients must be physically located in Texas during appointments.
Do you see people in person?
No, I provide care exclusively through telepsychiatry (secure video visits). This allows me to see patients across Texas without the limitations of a physical office.
Can you be my therapist too?
I focus on medication management, not intensive therapy. Many people benefit from having both a psychiatrist and a therapist—they serve different roles. If you need therapy, I’m happy to help connect you with someone good.
